We ought to be thankful for having the proverbial “roof over our heads”. The blessings that roof showers can be easily tainted and washed away by a leaky roof. If we do not follow the proper terrace waterproofing procedure, it can lead to water seepage across our home, thus decreasing its life and strength. It can cause leaks in the walls, mold, mildew, and weaken its overall structure. A roof is known as a terrace when it is flat and there is an entry built to access it.

Terrace waterproofing is a very important part of building construction. With the surge in urbanization, the need for economic and effective waterproofing solutions has grown multifold. With growing research and development in the construction industry, every few years new technologies in waterproofing are invented and they keep changing for the better. The ineffective old conventional methods of waterproofing are progressively being replaced with new advanced waterproofing solutions.

The roof or the terrace is the most fundamental and the most exposed part of our home. It acts as a sheath protecting us from the harsh conditions outside and keeps us safe and dry inside our cozy home. With the importance of a sound roof plays, it is pertinent to understand and choose the right method for terrace waterproofing. We must employ experienced and expert professionals to do the job.

Here we will be discussing the 5 easy Steps For Successful Terrace Waterproofing that will make your roof over your head strong and steady.

Step-1: Prepare The Surface

Firstly prepare the surface by proper cleaning with a wire brush and water. You need to remove all kinds of debris, dust, and other materials from your terrace’s surface. Then, give the rooftop a good and thorough scrubbing before applying your primer and waterproofing membrane. The proper cleaning helps in sticking chosen membrane to the surface and also brings to light the blemishes and cracks that need fixing.

Tip- Use a power washer in a low-pressure setting to get all that dirt off.

Step-2: Strengthen The Surface

After the thorough cleaning, repair the cracks, honeycombing, and undulations that are there on the terrace surface. This step is even more important if waterproofing is done on old brick bat Coba or any other old surface. This process will be the difference between doing the job only every few years or spending extra on redoing the whole job at least once a year during rains. Use primers to fill the cracks, and seal the surface properly to provide maximum adhesion for your terrace waterproofing membrane of choice.

Tip- Make sure to apply this on a thoroughly cleaned and dried surface.

Step-3: Treating The Details

The key to successful waterproofing is keen attention to detail. Take care of the little nooks and crannies that hide in plain sight. Treat all blemishes you spot properly before you start applying the waterproofing membrane. Also, pre-treat the rooftop’s edges, corners, pipes, vents and drains with sealants that are designed to seal abnormal roof penetrations that rollers usually can’t reach.  These are the areas that are prone to leakage. Seal them with due attention

Step-4: Application Of Waterproofing Chemical Coating

This step includes applying a membrane of your choice that prevents water from leaking through the rooftop. There are many types of terrace waterproofing materials available in the market with each having different properties and purposes. With various choices to pick from, it becomes important to pick the most suitable waterproofing membrane for your rooftop. The common types of waterproofing materials are Polyurethane, Cementitious Coating, EPDM Rubber, Rubberized Asphalt, Thermoplastic, Bituminous Membrane, PVC Waterproofing Membrane, etc.

While applying terrace waterproofing membrane, make sure that you have properly cured waterproofing membrane per layer and the thickness of the coating is consistent and it is applied uniformly throughout the surface. You should apply two coats of waterproofing chemical coatings

Tip- Make sure to apply the correct amount of waterproofing material, as stated by the manufacturers’ technical specifications.

Step-5: Apply Protective Layer On Waterproofing Coatings

If there is heavy traffic on the terrace, provide a protective layer on waterproofing coatings. Else, you can skip this step.

When you have finished getting your terrace waterproofing done, you can sleep peacefully without the worry of leaks seeping into your rooftop. Whether you are building a new house or renovating your old house, if you diligently follow these 5 steps to waterproof your terrace, it will not only help maintain the aesthetics of your home but also improve its resale value. There are many good manufacturers but Shawar Conchem has the right products to waterproof not only your terrace but also any corner of your house, from terrace to basement, and from walls to toilets and kitchen. Hope you enjoy a leakage-proof rainy season while sipping tea on your terrace.

The word home always resonates with a feeling of security and relief. And in our secure home, the roof is one of the most important features. It acts as a security blanket against ever-changing weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and rainfall. A good roof is an indicator of good construction and it increases the value of your home if you ever plan on reselling your space. Roof waterproofing is one of the means to maintain your roof top-notch during all seasons. Also, it keeps the roof safe from other environmental hazards such as mildew, mold, and algae that are dangerous to our health. One-time good thought and investment in good quality waterproofing provided by an expert waterproofing company in India can help you save on costs as you will not be spending much on regular maintenance.

So we can agree that waterproofing is one of the most crucial works in not only new construction but also in repair-maintenance projects. People have to incur huge losses due to waterproofing failures. All the expensive interior efforts and designs go in vain and drain due to dampness or leakages. Even the most aesthetically designed and decorated office in the basement cannot remain inhabitable due to foul smell, dampness, and water leaking.

A strong roof and walls can last for a lifetime but this will most likely happen when you invest in good waterproofing material. Along with good quality material, you also need to maintain it properly over the years. Hence, investing in good roof waterproofing services from a famous waterproofing company in India will keep you tension free and secure for a lifespan.

Here are some precautions that should be taken to get the best results from the waterproofing treatment of your house.

1. Select Correct Waterproofing Solution

All the famous waterproofing companies in India offer you a lot of waterproofing options such as flexible membrane-based waterproofing systems, crystalline waterproofing, Epoxy, and PU-based waterproofing treatments. You should select the waterproofing treatment according to your specific need and after giving careful thought to problems at the site and requirements. Be careful while choosing the contractor also because sometimes small contractors, who do not have a wide range of waterproofing treatment experience, may recommend treatments that they can conveniently provide. That solution may not be the best one for your problem.

2. Expenses involved in Waterproofing Job

Selecting a waterproofing contractor or method purely based on prices can lead to failure. You should always remain beware of the waterproofing contractors who quote you lower prices to get the project. Thereafter to achieve their desired margin they may use low-grade chemicals and that too in low quantities. So, try to resist bargaining too hard about waterproofing job costs for the very same reason. This might lead to the stretching of chemicals beyond the specified coverage as recommended by the major waterproofing companies in India.

3. The Hiring of Architects and Structural Engineers

It is always recommended to hire architects for the selection of the best-suited waterproofing treatment for your house. If you are going for bigger and commercial projects, you should also take advice from both architects as well as structural engineers. They will guide you to select the appropriate treatment methods and appropriate materials for your specific needs.

4. Right Method of  Waterproofing Application

The importance of good workmanship in waterproofing jobs cannot be underestimated. The right treatment and quality material from a professional waterproofing company in India can still be a total waste if it is not followed or applied as recommended. Only professional contractors and experienced applicators should be hired so that you get the desired results. It is advisable that you also supervise the waterproofing treatments to avoid any problems later on.

Apart from the precautions you should be taking while waterproofing your roof, you must keep in mind a few very important points that extend the life span of your terrace. Here are a few ways you can enhance the durability and overall performance of your roof.

  • Keep an eye for cracks and identify the early damages
  • Always hire a professional who has the proper experience
  • Always trace and get rid of the mildew, algae, and mold
  • Promptly and regularly seek and seal the cracks
  • Get proper heat insulation for your roof
  • Periodically clean the gutters
  • Timely trim overlying branches if any trees covering your roof
  • Invest in roof waterproofing products from a good  waterproofing company in India

In conclusion, we can say that “precaution is better than cure”. If you pay proper attention to choosing the right material and the right people for the treatment of the waterproofing job, you will never regret it. Take all the precautions as discussed above and have a great and secure life in your leakage free, properly waterproofed home.

We all have a dream to own a perfect living space, a heavenly abode that we construct with all our savings and efforts. We try our best and do everything possible to make our home a perfect place for us and our loved ones to enjoy for the rest of our lives there. We definitely don’t want our beautiful homes to be ruined by ugly stains or black spots. The main reason behind these horrible stains is the water seepage, that not only makes your homes look bad but also can cause structural damage and health hazards like serious allergies. Water seepage is one of the most common and recurring issues faced by homeowners around the world and its best solution is Ceiling waterproofing.

Ceiling leaks take place when water from the above building or unit leaks into your ceiling through the concrete floor slab. A leak usually happens when the waterproof membrane or screed in the slab above deteriorates over a period of time. Ceiling leaks are more common in bathrooms and toilets, or from the open terrace above. Finding the source of the leak can be a real task when it is created from the roof. It is because of the fact that water can enter through the roof from one point as well as flow to another point before it starts to penetrate the ceiling and walls. If you are experiencing a leaky ceiling, the source of the problem is most probably from the direct floor above.

To fix this issue, ceiling waterproofing needs to be done to prevent water from seeping into your unit.

A build-up of water on your ceiling is a serious indication of water seeping that can finally affect your ceiling and drip down the walls and can negatively affect your whole property. It can create more problems if water incursion reaches your basement ceiling, the water can continue to seep into the bases of your buildings. If you don’t undertake timely ceiling waterproofing, it could damage the structural integrity of your property.

When extreme moisture comes from the ceiling leak, it can result in mold formation. This mold brings various breathing problems that attack the health of your loved ones.

Leakage in the bathroom from the ceiling can also pose a safety hazard if water enters electrical fittings.

The solution for this grave problem is proper ceiling waterproofing done by experts. Waterproofing is a process that helps in preventing water from penetrating your house from the roof to the ceiling. Waterproofing is essential as it keeps your house dry. It aids in reducing humidity inside the house and hence protects things inside your house from damage that can be caused due to humidity or water exposure.

Benefits of Ceiling Waterproofing in Your House

Ceiling Waterproofing is highly beneficial due to the below reasons:

  • It protects the interiors of the house from water damage.
  • It prevents the onset of various health problems and allergies such as mold allergy.
  • It helps in protecting the structural strength of the house.
  • It saves repeated repair costs due to damage from seepage and increases the life of the building.
  • It helps in increasing the resale value of your property by making it look new and younger.

Here we are giving you a sneak peek into various waterproofing products that can come to your rescue. You may need to consult an experienced contractor who can guide you in choosing the right waterproofing solution for your ceiling waterproofing, based on your requirements.

Waterproofing Chemicals and Products

Epoxy and Grout

Epoxy Grout can be used in existing structures that are already in use and have developed cracks. These chemicals can be injected into the cracks or can be inserted into the surface by drilling holes. A sealant is formed by this process, which results in creating a water-resistant barrier.

Vinyl ester resin

These compounds can be used on concrete surfaces to prevent acid and corrosion damage. This resin creates waterproof membranes that guard against moisture and water damage.

Polyurethane

This chemical is usually used for roof waterproofing. This is one of the most expensive but durable chemical waterproofing methods.

Polyurea

It is considered one of the most strong and most flexible protective coatings, polyurea is known for its water resistance, abrasion resistance, and strength. This compound also has antibacterial properties.

Bituminous

Bituminous, also called asphalt coatings, is the best for waterproofing concrete foundations. Its waterproofing properties are based on the polymer grade used, and the fiber added to the chemicals.

Poly acrylic

This is one of the most used and superior qualities of waterproofing material that is used for concrete structures. This ceiling waterproofing solution is used to seal leakages on walls and for terrace waterproofing. But this type of waterproofing can be done only by experts and highly trained professionals.

Conclusion:

You should think of ceiling waterproofing treatment as the ultimate protection for your lovely home. So before the rains start, or even during monsoon when rain Gods are on a break, invest in a quality ceiling waterproofing solution. This not only safeguards your home from water damage but also saves your hard-earned money in the long run as your house stays sturdy and happy.

The house you build reflects your personality. It is not every day you build a new house, so you want to use the best possible material and also the most durable one. The kitchen and bathrooms of the house are the mirrors of the house which enhance or ruin the image of your house, tiling is one of the most important aspects of the new house. A tile job done properly can add life and give a refreshing look to your bathroom or kitchen for years to come. Then comes the selection of the right kind of grout, which is as important as the choice of the right tiles because it seals the joints between the tiles to create a watertight tile surface. There are two types of epoxy grout for tiles available in the market – the conventional cement grout and the high-end epoxy grout. We will focus on Epoxy Grout in this article.

Characteristics of Epoxy Grout for tiles

Epoxy Grout for tiles is hygienic and stain-resistant epoxy resin-based grout with three components and a very high degree of resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and impact. The cured grout does not transfer taints to the food products, prevents the entry of bacteria or dirt, and can be easily maintained in a sterile condition. Epoxy Grout for tiles is perfectly suitable for grouting a wide range of tiles and stones like glazed tiles, mosaic, vitrified and fully vitrified tiles, ceramic tiles, industrial tiles, granites, marbles & other natural stones, etc. Grouting is done in tiles to give the flooring a very clean and interesting finish. Epoxy grout forms a strong seal between the tiles. The primary ingredients of epoxy grout are epoxy resins and a filler material, which chemically react with one other to form the grout material.

Epoxy grout for tiles is considered more suitable for indoor tiles and not usually recommended for the outdoors because the grout may discolor from exposure to sunlight and its UV rays over a period of time.

Laticrete Epoxy Grout

Laticrete Epoxy grout is a great and easy epoxy grout to use. It is very easy to mix, you have to just follow the directions. It is very easily applicable also. You just have to make sure to follow up with the proper cleanup rinses and then your tiles will not have any residue. This is an ultimate and lightweight one-step, polymer fortified tile mortar for interior and exterior installation of ceramic tile, porcelain tiles, glass tiles, stones, quarry tiles, pavers, and bricks. It is more suitable for interior tiles and not usually recommended for exterior tiles because the grout may discolor from prolonged exposure to sunlight and its UV rays.

Epoxy Grout for Tiles

Our Shawar epoxy grout for tiles is a two-part epoxy-based formulation that is manufactured with the utmost care and precision to make it resistant to wear and tear. It is the highest quality grouting material that provides excellent effect and durability to your tiles. It also prevents staining, spillage, and chemical attacks in filled grooves of tiles, and stones. It consists of two parts- part A and part B, and it has to be used after properly mixing both the parts homogeneously.

The advantage of these two parts is that it becomes unbreakable and tough after they are combined together and applied to the groove. When applied, it gives a nice smooth finish, which is due to an ingredient that provides a crystalline sheen effect with ease of cleanability. It can be used for both residential and commercial installations which include those with total hygiene control, and damp and wet environments.

Where can Epoxy Grout be Applied?

Epoxy Grout for tiles is suitable for installation and grouting of floor and wall tiles, artificial and natural marbles, granite, mosaics, pavers, etc with grout joints thickness ranging between 2 to 15 mm. It can be used in the following:

  • Floor and wall tiles in showers and bathrooms.
  • Floor and wall tiles in general areas.
  • Kitchen countertops.
  • Balconies and Terraces.
  • Processing plants.
  • Warehouses.
  • Restaurants and other places that are submitted to direct contact with meat, dairy products, etc.
  • Suits surfaces that are exposed to aggressive chemical substances.
  • A perfect fit for grouting in swimming pools, tanks, etc.

Benefits of using Epoxy Grout

  • It is easy to apply and clean compared to normal cement sealants.
  • It comes in a variety of colors, so can be used for all types of tiles.
  • It has high mechanical strength and hardness
  • It has very low water absorption.
  • It is resistant to chemicals.
  • It has excellent bonding properties.
  • It is stained and UV-resistant.
  • It provides uniform colors and is resistant to weathering agents.
  • It does not crack during hardening.
  • It has high strength and the ability to withstand heavy traffic.

Surfaces Suitable for the Use of Epoxy Grout

  • Brick Masonry
  • Concrete Masonry
  • Gypsum Wall Board
  • Ceramic Tile And Stone
  • Cement Mortar Beds
  • Steel
  • Cement Plaster
  • Plastic Laminate
  • Vinyl

How to Apply Epoxy Grout

  • Shawar epoxy grout must be applied evenly on the tile coverings.
  • Seal the joints properly by completely grouting them, and applying the filler diagonally to the tiles.
  • Remove most of the excess grout immediately using the spreader, leaving only a thin film or layer on the tile.
  • Immediately after this clean up the surface properly.
  • To clean the tiles use a thick, hard and large sponge dipped in clean water to avoid removing grout from the joints.
  • Rinse frequently to ensure clean water is used at all times, if required, replace the sponge when it gets saturated with epoxy grout.
  • Finish up cleaning by moving the sponge diagonally across the tiles to avoid going into the joints.

How long does it take for Epoxy Grout to cure?

Since epoxy grout doesn’t require sealing, it is cured and ready for use much quicker than cementitious grout. Once you have finished installing your new set of tiles and applied the grout. Then comes the question: how long should you wait before you can use the bathroom/kitchen with the newly grouted tile? How long does it take for epoxy grout to dry?

It usually takes 24-72 hours for the grout to dry once you have applied it. Epoxy Grout often takes 48 hours to dry, but you must read the label on the product that you use properly. It takes around 48-72 hours for the grout to dry if it is outdoors, and as little as 24 hours if it is indoors. However, the exact drying time depends on a few factors like the type of grout, humidity levels, and whether your grout is being used indoors or outdoors. Most manufacturers put advice waiting three to seven days before exposing grout to moisture but the average drying time for epoxy grout is 24 hours. Epoxy grout consists of epoxy resin and hardener, so it’s perfect for tiles that will have exposure to harsher materials like acid and grease. This grout along with being a durable grout is also resistant to stains, cracks, chemicals, and weather changes. It needs more spent and is slightly difficult to apply since it dries quickly, but it lasts for a very long time. Epoxy grout doesn’t always need to be sealed, it gets cured and ready to go much faster than cementitious grout.

Does Epoxy Grout need a sealer?

Epoxy grout is self-sealing, so there is no need to add a sealer. The epoxy base is not porous and does not absorb water. Any coarse surface will obviously trap dirt and oils in the texture of the surface. It is natural even for a sealed cementitious grout to get dirty, and so all grout surfaces need to be cleaned occasionally. Before applying epoxy grout, some unsealed tiles like natural stone surfaces must be sealed first. But there are a few types of tile surfaces, such as non-porcelain ceramic tiles, that do not need to be sealed. Most ceramic tiles are finished with a durable glaze that protects their surface from staining, so adding a sealer is not necessary. However, porcelain tiles are not coated with a protective glaze, these surfaces have to be maintained with a protective sealer. If you are using natural stone surfaces such as marble, slate, granite, etc you will need to seal the tile surfaces because a stone is a porous material that makes it vulnerable to stains and moisture.

Can you use epoxy grout over cement grout?

Yes, it is possible to regrout by using epoxy grout over cement grout, but first, you will have to dig the existing cement grout out of the joints until it’s half the depth of the tile. This can be done conveniently with a grout saw or scraper. The basic reason behind this is to provide enough depth for the new epoxy grout to adhere to the remaining sanded grout and also to the edges of the tile. Let the epoxy grout set up for a few minutes in the bucket after mixing so that you have a slightly stiffer, tackier mix which will be tough and durable.

Shawar Epoxy grout for tiles is not only the best grout for durability and color consistency, but it is also the best choice for artistic expression and to add life to your house. It is safe and toxic-free, making it the best all-around choice.

Epoxy grout is a unique and popular tiling grout that does not use Portland cement or water in the mixing process. It consists of hardener, pigments, epoxy resin, and silica fillers. Epoxy grout is a leading grout mixture that is becoming a favorite grouting mixture of the tilers. The reason behind the choice is that it is very strong and durable and is resistant to stains, cracks, and weather changes. But like everything in life, this coin also has two sides. Along with its many advantages, it has a few problems too. In this article we will try to give you a fair viewpoint on epoxy grout problems, pros and cons so that you can take an informed and aware decision before choosing the perfect grout for your tiles.

Epoxy Grout Advantages

  • Epoxy grout is a very strong and exceedingly durable grout that is resistant to chemicals and can last a lifetime.
  • It is non-porous and doesn’t allow the growth of mold or mildew on the tiles. This feature makes epoxy grout highly suitable for areas like kitchens and bathrooms, which are susceptible to damage by water.
  • It is resistant to stains and very easy to maintain and hence gives you a fuss-free cleaning experience. The best thing about epoxy grout is that dust and grime can be easily cleaned with a wet sponge or damp cloth.
  • Epoxy grout advantages also include being available in a wide range of colors. You can choose a color that will match the color of the tile to obtain a neat and seamless look for your bathroom or kitchen.
  • Epoxy grout does not require sealing due to its property of being non-porous.

Epoxy Grout Problems

  • Working with epoxy grout becomes a little complicated because two or three materials need to be mixed in exact proportions before its application. It is advisable to employ an experienced contractor for the job who has experience in working with this grout.
  • Epoxy is a grout material that dries very quickly. It is imperative to make the mixture in batches to avoid wastage. You must keep in mind that once mixed, you will get a very limited amount of time to work with the grout.
  • Another epoxy grout problem is that it is more time-consuming than using the traditional cement grout.
  • It is expensive because both the cost of the material and its installation are high.
  • Epoxy grout when exposed to sunlight for a prolonged period of time, may turn yellow which is not pleasing to the eyes
  • It gives a slightly plastic appearance which is not very appealing to some.

Is Epoxy Grout Flexible?

Epoxy grout is not rigid or gritty like the regular cementitious grout. The hard fact is that, when we come to the epoxy grout vs. conventional grout debate, epoxy grout always scores points for its elasticity and durability. The difference is attributed more to the chemical make-up of the products and the benefits that come from being more waterproof and flexible. The flexible epoxy grout has been designed to absorb impact, vibration, and a small amount of stress and strain without cracking. This feature of flexibility makes it an ideal choice for balconies, kitchens, etc with higher foot traffic.

Is Epoxy Grout Worth the Money?

There is no doubt that epoxy is more expensive than regular grout. People are always on the fence when deciding is epoxy grout worth the money? The answer and choice become very easy if you like the idea of no maintenance, and you can manage the added expense. You might want to opt for it despite these initial upfront costs of using this product because you will find that there are savings to be made throughout the grout’s lifespan. When compared to traditional cement-based grouts, epoxy grout does not require regular sealing and it will not require re-grouting or refreshing anywhere near as quickly as its cement counterparts would. This grout has a proven significantly longer lifespan than other options. In general, you will realize that epoxy grout for tiles is well worth the additional price you invest in once. It will more than makeup for it in terms of saving on regular sealing and maintenance. Epoxy grout is an extremely low maintenance option in your home that you will not have you spend hours crawling around your kitchen and bathroom with a toothbrush cleaning the regular grout.

How to maintain Epoxy Grout?

  • Epoxy grout is generally a stain and crack-free grout but still weekly or biweekly, give your grout a nice preventative clean with water and baking soda paste. Rub this paste in the grout with a grout brush or a used toothbrush and rinse thoroughly with clear water. The key things to remember are to be aware of high-traffic areas and these places need a little more maintenance. Here is a list of some preventive steps you can take so that your tiles look like new forever-
  • Put walk-off mats at every entrance to your home. It is not just for decorative purposes, walk-off mats lower the amount of dirt coming into your home.
  • Put mats or rugs in the kitchen and dining areas. Be aware of areas where food and water get collected, such as your sink, stove, under your pet’s food, and water bowls.
  • Always ensure you follow the best mopping practices. The basic thing to keep in mind is to not overwet your floors. This is even more important when you are using the type of mop that you dunk into the water, and that gets dirtier each time you dunk it.
  • Vacuum or sweep more often especially in the high traffic areas.

Does Epoxy Grout get moldy?

Mold has a tendency to grow in warm and damp areas where there is little to no circulation of air. Tiles and grout are prone to the formation of mold, especially in bathrooms, kitchens, and anywhere that supports these aforementioned conditions. Epoxy grout being nonporous and water-resistant restricts the growth of mold, but still, mold and mildew will grow on the surface of anything, even epoxy grout. This is more the case in showers where soap, hot water, and skin oils present a perfect medium for its growth. But there’s no or very little chance of the mold penetrating inside the epoxy grout because there’s simply no space within the epoxy matrix for this to happen. For this reason, epoxy grout is a popular choice among many homeowners and contractors. But that doesn’t mean epoxy grout is the answer to all of your mold problems. It still needs to be properly maintained and cleaned to avoid some of the issues that come with age and exposure, but using epoxy grout in your tile installations can definitely reduce your maintenance costs and efforts. With regular cleaning, you can keep mold away from your grout. Keep good ventilation and air circulation in rooms that are prone to moisture and reduce the risk of mold on your grout.

Does Epoxy Grout yellow over time?

People have a common complaint about the epoxy grout in their showers and floors turning yellow. There are a number of reasons behind this. Some of these are listed below

  • Shampoos, soaps, and other toiletries used in showers contain chemicals that can cause discoloration.
  • Skin and hair oils contain many contaminants that can cause yellowing of not only grout but also tile.
  • Certain cleaners, mainly those that contain dyes, can cause discoloration of grout. Household bleach used for cleaning can discolor the grout.
  • Certain water supplies can be hard and deposit minerals on the grout that can oxidize and cause yellow discoloration.
  • Water used to mop floors gets dirty very fast. The dirt, oils, etc. can settle on the grout lines and form a yellow cast. You should keep your mop head clean and change the mop water frequently.
  • Hairspray, air freshener, and other aerosol sprays can also cause grout discoloration.

There are a few tile types, like white marble, that contain iron, that can bleed into the grout and oxidize, causing the epoxy grout to turn yellow.

Why is my white grout turning orange?

Orange stains on your sparkling tiles and grout can either mean mold or iron in the water supply is discoloring your grout. Due to many of its advantages, AAC blocks are increasingly used as wall units in the majority of residential projects. They are lightweight, easy-to-handle blocks that are also long-lasting. AAC Block Adhesives have excellent thermal insulation and are made using fly ash. As a result, they are included in the list of environmentally friendly or green building materials. Cement sand mortar has been used in masonry construction for decades. However, because of their mismatched qualities, using traditional mortar with freshly produced AAC blocks has resulted in poor construction quality. When considering the entire brickwork, the cement mortar is heavier to bond with AAC blocks and lacks thermal insulation qualities, resulting in less thermal insulation.

As a result, specific adhesives tailored to the characteristics of AAC blocks have been developed. When used with AAC blocks, this AAC block adhesive offers greater benefits than traditional cement mortar. Contractors and homeowners are divided on which is more costeffective: AAC block adhesive or cement mortar. To assist you in making the best decision, we have listed the benefits of AAC block adhesive as well as a cost comparison with traditional cement sand mortar.

Specially formulated adhesives by the AAC Block Adhesive Manufacturer company derived from cement, lime, sand, and specialty polymers are used to adhere AAC blocks. In other cases, fly ash is also used in the formulation. These adhesives reduce the thickness of mortar from 8-12 mm to 3-4 mm. When compared to traditional cement sand mortar, there are numerous advantages. When opposed to cement sand mortar, which requires 8-12 mm thick mortar joints, just 3-4 mm of glue is required to attach AAC blocks. As a result, the jointing material is reduced by 75%.

The AAC block adhesive is designed to complement the thermal insulating properties of AAC blocks. As a result, unlike cement mortar, the entire stonework works as a thermal barrier. Because the adhesives are made in facilities under strict conditions, quality control methods may be closely monitored, resulting in a superior final product. Cement mortar is made onsite, and it might be difficult to regulate the quality of the mortar while it is being made. The quality of the raw components cannot be confirmed when mortar is made on site. The raw ingredients will be tested by the producers before being used in the production of adhesives. When it comes to the AAC Block Adhesive Price in India, the AAC block adhesive is less expensive, making it a more cost-effective option. AAC block adhesive has a number of benefits and is less expensive than traditional mortar. Curing, transportation, and labour costs are all reduced as a result of its benefits and the AAC Block Adhesive price. As a result, when constructing using AAC blocks, homeowners need consider purchasing adhesive. Many companies produce environmentally friendly adhesive. As a result, such alternatives must be examined.

If you’ve fallen in love with a mosaic tile but can’t bear the thought of washing all that grout, then keep reading! There is an alternative called epoxy grout to standard grout that will cut down on your cleaning time and leave your mosaic feature tiles looking brand new in months or years. Have we piqued your interest? Then let’s get down to business with epoxy grout. So, first and foremost. What is grout, and how does epoxy tile grout vary from regular grout? A cement-based mix is used to make traditional grout. When it becomes wet, it absorbs water rather than repelling it. Anyone who has scrubbed grout will attest to how easily it absorbs stains. Epoxy grout, on the other hand, is created by combining epoxy resins with a filler powder. This renders it waterproof and stain-resistant to a large extent. Because of its toughness, it’s perfect for splashbacks, floors, and high-traffic areas.

Epoxy grout is resistant to cracking, shrinking, and discoloration, making it excellent for use in moist areas like showers. The best epoxy grout is also resistant to strong chemicals found in cleaning supplies. Epoxy grout, unlike typical cement grout, does not require sealing because to its non-porous nature. Epoxy grouts for bathroom tiles, also known as reactive resin grouts, offer a wide range of advantages that can be used in a variety of applications. Epoxy’s impermeable properties make it perfect for applications where hygiene is critical, such as hospitals, countertops, and food processing facilities.

Epoxy grout forms a strong barrier between the tiles. Epoxy grout for floor tiles and a filler material are the main components of this grout, which chemically react to form the grout substance. This material is best for non-porous tiles, such as porcelain or ceramic, that do not allow grout to absorb into the tile. This grout should not be used on stone or other porous tiles since it may penetrate the tile and cause harm to the surface. Epoxy grout is best for indoor tiles and should not be used outside due to the risk of discoloration from prolonged exposure to sunshine and UV rays. Epoxy grout installation is a long-lasting, extremely strong, chemically resistant, and long-lasting material. It’s non-porous, which means mould and mildew can’t grow on it. As a result, epoxy grout is ideal for spaces like bathrooms and kitchens that are prone to water damage.

Epoxy grout is stain-resistant, easy-to-maintain, and cleans up quickly. The best thing about epoxy grout for bathroom floor is that it cleans up simply with a moist cloth or wet sponge. Another advantage is that epoxy grout comes in a variety of colours. To create a tidy and seamless look, choose a colour that matches the tile colour.
